1.Why Does Red Flag Athletics cost so much more than a large box fitness chain?

 Training-Centric Model vs. Membership Model

  • The Business Model of Red Flag Athletics is only successful if the client is successful.  We want all of our athletes to show up and succeed everyday.
  • Resources are dedicated to improve fitness and not toward sales marketing to new members. Strive for Athletic Excellence and the athletes will find you.

Cost of Comparable Coaching/Programming

  • Average Semi-Private coaching session 50-85$ an hour.
  • Three sessions a week: 600-1020$ a month.
  • Stark contrast to 100-150$ a month for unlimited sessions at Red Flag Athletics.

Accountability

  • Red Flag Athletics provides a motivating level of accountability to the coaching staff and, more importantly, shared responsibility to fellow athletes.
  • Each class has at least one Coach with the sole purpose in life, for that hour, to provide a safe, productive, and “fun” environment.
  • The elliptical trainer and television at a large fitness facility does not hold anyone accountable.

Community

  •  A culture of allegiance to coaches and athletes develops which transforms into a larger sense of community.  This is why athletes stay for years.  Birthdays, weddings, funerals, holidays etc.
  • The community is priceless

2. How do I get past the intimidation factor?

  • Everyone, and I mean everyone, is intimidated visiting a gym for the first time.  This can be for various reasons, but it is unfounded.
  • The enviroment at Red Flag Athletics is one of encouragement.  All involved, from Coaches to Athletes, are supporting the successes of our membership.
  • If true fitness is a priority, and it should be, you have to jump in with both feet.  You will soon forget ever being intimidated.

3. Will Training at RFA make me “bulky” ?

  • “I don’t want to drive a car because I may transform into a NASCAR driver “ or “I worried about playing catch with my son because it may turn me into a MLB pitcher”~That’s just not realistic.
  • Athletes of both genders do not get “bulky” on accident. It is a concerted effort through diet, special training, and at times medicinal influences.
  • “Bulky” athletes, especially women, are the minority not the majority.
  • The goal of RFA is to assist a participant in becoming/or maintaining the best physical/mental version of themselves.

4. I have heard that CrossFit or Functional Fitness is unsafe…will I get hurt at RFA?

  • All athletes are pre-screened using a PAR-Q, Test Out Workout, and/or a Fundamentals Course to ensure safety.
  • Red Flag Athletics focuses on functional training which provides the athlete with skills and strengths to better meet life’s physical and mental challenges.
  • Member success is our business model. That necessitates safety be our prime directive.

Games Pic

5. I’ve seen the CrossFit Games on ESPN…how do you expect me do that?

  • RFA is not for everybody, but it is for anybody.
  • The athletes you see on ESPN are the top 1% of all competitive athletes in that sport.
  • Our programs are universally scalable, which means all workouts can be calibrated for each individual athlete. The accountant, Navy SEAL, grandmother, and competitive athlete can participate side by side in every class.
  • At RFA, we are mainly striving for functional competence, but wouldn’t mind functional dominance if we can get an athlete there.
